Day 336
Date: 2021-03-04 08:42 pm (UTC)Description: The names "Kino" and "Hermes" are blanked out with static.
Sky is in a forest with a sniper rifle, which they use to fire at three bandits hiding among the trees nonlethally. Once the bandits are dealt with, a truck passes by unharmed, and Sky returns to a hidden Hermes to catch up to them. However, just as Sky is explaining to Hermes that if they were a bandit in this scenario, they would create a blockade to stop victims, the group comes across a felled tree blocking the road. Before Sky can tell them that all they need to do is move the tree, the truck veers off the road into a side path on the forest, and Sky complains that they've clearly fallen into a trap before following even as the motorrad expresses sympathy for having to handle inexperienced people. They arrive at the ruins of a fortress that was clearly well made in the past, and there Sky confronts the leader of the group, a doctor who has been staying close to a woman carrying a baby the whole time. He explains that he ordered the men to drive off the road because the baby has a weak heart and only a short time to live, and would not have been able to survive the shock if they drove into the tree. Sky states they would have liked to know that earlier before walking away to figure out how to secure the parameter.
Note: the original Japanese does not particularly gender Kino, and by default most people tend to assume Kino is male upon sight, so assume cases of "Miss" etc. are just some polite referral to Kino (one official translation uses Mx.)
Notes;
Date: 2021-03-05 01:34 am (UTC)-They do care about the baby making it through alright at the very least, because the baby is cute.
